Fuel Efficiency, Map Tweaks, and Performance Fixes
Starscan » Devlog
This mid-week update is kind of chill, tbh. It’s mostly some bug fixes, including a tweak to the nightmare fuel efficiency and sector scale from the last update.
Here’s what’s in this update:
- Sector Map Tweaks - We’re now telling you exactly what your range (in units) is. This correlates to the range to the nearest outpost on the sector view.
- Performance Fix - We’re now caching some of our more frequent calls to read ship data. It’s a small fix, but it was causing issues for some older hardware.
- Output Noise - I cleaned up some of the output noise that Linux players were seeing in the console. There’s still some debug info, but the spam is less, now.
- Fuel Efficiency Fix - The last update increased the map scale by about 3x, but we didn’t update our fuel efficiency by unit, and it made things hard. Like REAL HARD. Like WAY TOO FREAKING HARD.
Thanks so much for all the great feedback, so far! You’re all really helping hone in on what will make Starscan great.
I am grateful!
