System Scanning Difficulty, Audio Tweaks and Bug Fixes

Hey, Crew!

This week’s update is addressing some of the bugs that some folk are experiencing and getting some more audio (and updated audio) out there. I’ve had really positive feedback about the direction the audio is going, which is awesome! So I’ll keep moving forward on it this week.

If you have any feedback on these updates or just want to hang out, join The Voltur Nest Discord! That’s where I post stuff like this, but it’s much more conversational. We’d love to see you stop by!

Here’s what’s in this update:

  • Audio pt. 2 - Audio has been tweaked here and there and some new audio for scanning.
  • Scanning difficulty - We are now scaling the difficulty of the scanning feature based on your proximity to an anomaly. If you’re close to one, scanning has interference and is harder. Try it!
  • BUG: Moving while selecting buttons - Fixed a bug that sometimes accidentally treated your button clicks (scan/enter system) as movement input.
  • BUG: Surface POI not correct - A bug where looting an unknown item on a planet would not display the correct (exhausted/empty) icon when you return later.
  • BUG: Audio artifacts when fading in/out - There were audio artifacts (clicking) when fading out some sounds. This was an interesting issue in how godot handles audio mixers. Good to know!

As always, your ongoing feedback and support has helped me make this game better and I’m eternally grateful for that.

You have the console,

-Voltur
